LOCAL girl, Gill Burns, is representing England at the Womens Rugby Canada Cup tournament in Winnipeg, Canada.
Gill is the highest capped England player, with 54 caps, and was the first woman player to be entered in the 'Rugby Hall of Fame' last year.
The Canada Cup is held every four years, half way between each womens World Cup, and this year it is a Round Robin Tournament between the top four sides in the 1998 Championship, New Zealand are favourites with the USA ranked second, England third and Canada fourth.
Gill is relishing the opportunity to play against the Kiwis who beat England in the 1998 World Cup semi-final when she was the squad captain. Unfortunately she missed that game due to an injury picked up in the quarter-final against Australia.
