Vauxhall Mtrs 5, Chorley 0
CHORLEY were swept aside by a five-star Vauxhall performance.
The unbeaten Motormen were simply a class apart, storming to the top of UniBond Division One with this victory.
It was an unlucky debut for former Bury goalkeeper Ian Willcock, but the new boy could not be blamed for any of the goals.
Ironically, it was Chorley who could have taken the lead in the fourth minute when Matt Swailes chased a back pass but shot against the keeper's legs, rebounding to David Eatock whose clever lob hit the bar.
Vauxhall's speedy raiding was always a threat and the Magpies were left reeling by four goals in 20 minutes before the interval.
Clinical finishing by Greg Blundell brought him two in two minutes and a careless back pass by Paul Fleming three minutes before the break handed the forward his hat-trick.
And Kevin Lynch put the match beyond Chorley with a fourth on the stroke of half-time.
Vauxhall were content to coast through much of the second half and Chorley came more into the game but, with seconds remaining Vauxhall completed the scoring when a lightning break led to Nicky Welton powering home an unstoppable header.
