CHILDREN with special needs enjoyed a smashing time in an interesting and varied programme of summer play schemes throughout the borough thanks to the council's Play Section, Barnardo's, Connect and other service providers.
The programme included a scheme for children aged five to 11 years with severe learning difficulties or physical disabilities (including sensory impairment; a scheme for children with language or hearing difficulties; integrated and inclusive play schemes, and a scheme for children aged 12 to 18 years with severe learning difficulties or physical difficulties (including sensory impairment).
Lighting equipment was donated by St Helens Opportunity for Play and the Play section's local Resource Centre.
