WHILE Blackpool are playing in the Worthington Cup second round, their fans are also looking forward to a second round cup-tie of their own in a new tournament called the Worthington Fives.

The Blackpool Five celebrated reaching the second round of the tournament when first round matches were contested recently.

The first round fixtures mirrored the format of the actual Worthington Cup draw and they will now face the Kidderminster Five at the Powerleague Football Centre, Nottingham on Sunday.

The Worthington Fives is the first amateur tournament that gives fans the chance to represent their nominated professional cub in a national 5-a-side competition.

As well as playing in the final as a curtain raiser to the Worthington Cup in February, the Worthington Fives champions will also receive an all-expense paid trip to Europe, just as the Worthington Cup winners gain a place in Europe, in the UEFA Cup.

The Worthington Fives Final will be played as a curtain raiser before the Worthington Cup Final on Sunday February 25, 2001.
