A BLACKPOOL businessman is throwing down the gauntlet in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for the air ambulance.
Eddie Sloane, who runs Trax quad bikes in Preston, has taken up the challenge to raise £100,000 by Christmas. And he reckons he will not only do it but he will raise even more money for the Blackpool-based helicopter. Eddie is inviting corporate business people to get on a quad bike and challenge their colleagues in a competition similar to television's Run the Gauntlet.
Eddie, who began raising money for the air ambulance after he heard it was not given Government funding, said: "It costs thousands of pounds to run the air ambulance so they need as much help as they can."
