A GROUP of children from Chernobyl were visiting Blackpool last week -- and the Sea Life Centre staff showed that they weren't lost for words.
Claire Rimmer, one of the staff members, speaks fluent Russian and gave the children a guided tour around the aqua attraction.
The children, aged between 7-11, were visiting from the Mogilev region of Belarus in Russia, brought across by the charity, Friends of Chernobyl's Children.
Once a year the charity brings the children to England to get full health check-ups, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and the opportunity to enjoy some other comforts that will not be available to them in Russia with the hope that their immune systems will protect them for the coming year. Claire from Sea Life said: "It was wonderful being able to explain our displays to the children and answer their questions in their own language."
