WE have touchdown! The latest addition to Preston North End hit town last week in the form of towering American striker Brian McBride.
The new recruit is on loan to the Lilywhites for six months after departing from his native US Major League Soccer club, Columbus Crew.
But, it is unlikely that he will be homesick for too long as he'll be back in the USA in two weeks time for the crucial World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica on October 11.
David Moyes highlighted his reasons for bringing 6ft 2ins McBride, 28, to the club: "He scored regularly for Columbus and I hope that will continue here."
He added: "He's powerful, hard working -- like all the players -- and a team player."
Brian said: "I came here just over three weeks ago and I was very impressed, not only by the team but also by the club -- I've been treated first class so far by the club and the fans are great."
