FILMS made by young producers from Pendle will be shown at a national festival in Bradford on October 13 and 14.

A group of 11 and 12-year-olds from Gibfield School, Colne, have filmed The Creepy House which catalogues a visit to an old house on a hill where the new owners have some surprises for the main characters.

And a second independent entry filmed by Christopher Fairburn from Nelson will also be shown.

Christopher, six, has made Teddy Castle's Adventure which tells the tale of a teddy who travelled back in time and details the people he met.

Both films have been picked for the Co-operative Young Film Makers festival at the National Museum of Photography, Film and TV.

Festival organiser Julia Youd said: "The talent of young people and the commitment they have shown in making these films is incredible.

"Young people have so much to say and yet often they have little opportunity to express themselves to a wider audience.

"The festival gives them the chance to explore whatever issues they choose, express themselves on film and develop new skills while doing it."
