LEIGH bakers Waterfields are going for triple glory in this year's Baking Industry Awards as they defend their prestigious Baker of the Year title.
Managing director, John Waterfield, has been shortlisted for the for accolade he won last year, while Peter Fort is hoping to repeat last year's winning success in the savoury snack section.
Richard Lloyd, the company's first modern apprentice, has also been shortlisted in the young baker category.
The awards take place at the Grosvenor Hotel, London, next Tuesday.
John said: "These are the Oscars of our industry and it is a magnificent compliment to the dedication and hard work of all our staff that our superb baking skills have already been recognised in this manner."
