PRESTON skipper Sean Gregan predicts second from bottom Sheffield Wednesday will find their form soon -- but hopes it's after the two sides clash at Hillsborough tomorrow.

"They've come down from the Premier League and have had a bit of a nightmare at home but I'm sure they'll turn it round sooner or later.

"But we're hoping it's not against us tomorrow.

"They have quality players but we're just hoping we get an early goal and the crowds get on their backs," said Gregan who once more looks set to start in a defensive role rather than his usual midfield position.

"I don't mind really. In my four years here I've probably spent about six months in defence but the people in midfield are doing well and hanging onto their shirts.

"But it's all going all right so far although in this league we've found one mistake and we're punished."

Manager David Moyes is set to stick with the new strikeforce of Brian McBride and Steve Basham as top scorer Jon Macken is still sidelined with a hamstring injury.

"Jon is jogging a bit but I would say he and Bjarki (Gunnlaugsson) are doubtful. But Brian has impressed me and has been unlucky not to score on several occasions. He'll settle down and will be a real asset," said the North End boss.

Winger Iain Anderson is also back in the frame after missing three games suffering from medial ligament damage. He came through 80 minutes of a reserve game and should be back in contention.

And David Lucas will be in goal for his sixth successive game with Finnish international keeper Tepi Moilanen still suffering from a back complaint.

"Tepi is not now far away but David is a good keeper, he is improving with age and he's technically very good," added Moyes.

Squad: Lucas, O'Hanlon, Edwards. Murdock, Gregan, Alexander, McKenna, Appleton, Rankine, Cartwright, McBride, Basham, Eyres, Parkinson, Robinson, Anderson, Jackson.
