MAY I thank three people who are strangers to me?
On September 5 I was taken ill near to the weir on the River Irwell. A young woman named Jennifer telephoned for an ambulance and left a message for my wife via her mobile 'phone.
Despite being heavily pregnant herself, Jennifer went to a lot of trouble. She sat with me for a time, then got a teenage boy and girl to stay with me while she went back to Burrs Park to contact the paramedics. My thanks, also, to the security guard who gave some much-needed assistance.
I would love to hear from Jennifer and the boy and girl if they read this and can contact me (0161 797 1869). Fortunately, I am now alright. The alarming symptoms were an adverse reaction to medication.
