AS our elected representative, I hope that David Chaytor MP is taking note of the strength of public opinion concerning the fuel situation.

I have taken to car-sharing for part of the week and plan to continue after the current crisis is over. But this is not always possible due to business commitments.

I worked in Blackley for many years but following redundancy at the age of 51, I now work near Wythenshawe Hospital, a round trip of 44 miles. I used to travel 19.

I start work at 8am and finish at 5pm. While the Metrolink may be a fine method of transport, it does not entirely suit me and I dread to think how long my daily journey would take using it. By car, the journey takes 50 to 60 minutes.

What is Mr Chaytor saying to Tony Blair and co? He should remember that his majority is at stake.

Cheaper, readily available fuel is a must!
