LANCASHIRE County Council's trading standards department (LET, October 16) is jumping to conclusions and wanting a kneejerk reaction to ban Airbomb fireworks.
The true facts are that Airbombs have been out for many years and are not new at all.
They only cause harm if somebody is standing over them or too near them when lit.
I don't think the government will support a sales ban like they did with bangers and mini-rockets. There may be opposition to it and it could take a year to get a ban in force.
Why should trading standards ban responsible and sensible users from enjoying these things because of irresponsible youngsters and children's dangerous antics with them?
What is needed is more enforcement of the sales laws to under-18s, not a blanket ban.
