TWO nurses from Whiston Hospital are hoping to tackle a gruelling challenge to raise money for a children's hospice -- with a little help from local people and companies.

Pals, Tricia Turton (42) and 44-year-old Linda Reid aim to head out to the Far East next April to take part in the 'Ultimate Borneo Challenge' which involves a 180-kilometre cycle ride, white water rafting and a trip to Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in South Asia.

Tricia and Linda are paying £2,500 each to atttempt the challenge and now they are hoping to attract sponsors to help them raise money to provide much-needed equipment for the children's hospice attached to Clatterbridge Hospital.

Tricia, said: "The children at Clatterbridge are so brave and we believe this is a very worthy cause."

All money raised will be used to buy equipment to make the youngsters' final days as comfortable as possible.
