STAFF at the Parents' Information Centre in Newton-le-Willows Library are on hand to help members of the public tackle one of the most challenging, unpaid jobs, in the world -- being a parent.

And during National Parenting Week (October 23 to October 28) the Partnership with Parents Team at Newton will be opening its doors to parents, carers and grandparents.

The specialist centre at the Crow Lane East library provides a wealth of information and support about how to get the most out of parenting and it also runs courses to help parents and carers to cope with and enjoy family life.

During National Parenting Week, which coincides with the half-term holiday, books and leaflets about the trials and tribulations of being a parent will also be available at the Your Family Matters section of Parr Community Library, Fleet Lane, and from the Chester Lane Centre, Sutton Manor, between 1 and 3pm on Wednesday, October 25.
