DARWEN Dashers had fourteen runners in the Anderton Arms 10k race at Preston as the race was part of the President's Trophy mini-series.
Derek Lee was first back in 15th with Barry Shackleton, home from Bahrain close behind in 19th.
Next was Roy Ashcroft, who was just pipped by former Dasher George Davies for third in the M50 class. Best of the Blackburn Road Runners was improving Bernie Johnson whose 22nd kept him just ahead of the Clayton pair Steve Green and Lee Passco.
Also in the top 30 was Dougie Aspden of West Pennine Runners in 27th.
Dougie's team mate Sheila Fogg won the L45 age group while Maureen Roberts was the first over 60 lady for Darwen Dashers. The Dashers lady captain Linda Clarkson set a PB of 48:01, but their highest finisher was Sue Corsini, 2nd L35. Michelle Holden of Blackburn Road Runners was third in the same age group.
