AS Remembrance Sunday draws near, I urge the people of Blackburn and Darwen to once again donate generously to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.
All the monies raised by the Appeal go to assist servicemen and women who, by their courage and sacrifice, have enabled us to enjoy peaceful lives.
The appeal also assists their families and I am sure that you will agree it is a most worthwhile cause.
I know that the people of Blackburn and Darwen are most generous and so I would ask you once again to please consider a donation towards this year's Poppy Appeal.
