WHITEFIELD golfer Daniel McArevey found himself caught up in the world of showbiz gossip after newspaper claims that he had been dating pop star Billie Piper.
The teenager dismissed the reports of romance as rubbish, saying he had never even met the 18-year-old singer who is currently in Australia.
Daniel, who works at Whitefield Golf Club and lives in Kearsley, said: "It's rubbish. I've never met her and I wouldn't know her if I walked past her in the street.
"There is no relationship with Billie Piper. I've already got a beautiful girlfriend. She's a local girl who I've been seeing for about six months. According to a national newspaper, Daniel initially told them he had been seeing Billie following her split from Five Star's Richie Neville but later changed his story to deny any romance.
It was alleged he had been seen kissing the teen idol in a Manchester bar.
