OUTRAGEOUS Andy Angel stripped nude in public and sang at the top of his voice -- to win £500 in a radio competition.

Andy (28), from Sunnybank, Unsworth, earned the chance to grab the cash when he was the first to arrive at a radio station in Manchester to complete a mystery feat.

It was not until he was live on air at Piccadilly Key 103 that he found out he would have to peel off in public and give a rendition of It's Raining Men to win.

He said: "I'm just glad I had a shower in the morning and put on my best underwear. I didn't realise what I was going to have to do, and I was a bit shocked when they told me live on air that I'd need to strip off to win.

"That was probably the only thing I was dreading having to do, but to be honest I'm a bit mad and decided to go for it."

Andy, a former media student who is now working on producing independent documentaries, popped into a pub loo to strip naked with only a hat to cover his modesty. He then earned his money by running across a public bridge in the plush Manchester dockland area of Castlefield.

Andy added: "It was cold but now I've got the £500 I'm going to spend it on fixing my car after someone ran into it the other day."

DJ Darren Proctor, who hosted the show, said: "He was a really good sport. I could tell he did not know quite what to do, but I think he felt the pressure of radio. He was a very brave man. It was very cold outside!"
