BLACKBURN Rovers striker Craig Hignett will come face-to-face with one of his former mentors when Grimsby Town visit Ewood Park tomorrow.
The former Barnsley man knows all about Mariners boss Lennie Lawrence after he took him to Middlesbrough from Crewe in the early 1990s.
And, after spending time under his wing in the North East, Rovers' £2.25 million signing reckons he knows exactly what to expect from his side tomorrow.
"I've got a lot of time for Lennie," said Hignett.
"He's a very talented manager who can work wonders on a very limited budget.
"But, for whatever reason, things didn't go too well for him up at Boro.
"I think he'll come here and try to catch us on the break tomorrow.
"I've already seen them play once this season at Barnsley and he's got them playing football so they'll be sure to knock it about a bit.
"But that could suit us because we tend to struggle a bit more against the sides who don't want to get it down and play."
