THE small, but perfectly, formed Clocks Back Festival will entertain yocals and locals in Lancaster next weekend, October 27.
On Friday, local band Trio Rat will be joined by ace melodeonist Simon Booth (ex Ran Tan Band) and this year they have two special guest bands Xim, who come hotfoot from a gig at London's Festival Hall, and One Foot in the Gutter, two Yorkshire fiddlers and a Lancaster clarinettist.
On Saturday there's an introduction to French dance with the experienced Jessica Abrahams, followed by the Grand Bal featuring Xim and local heroes Zim-Zin.
Upstairs in the Green Room, the Hale (and Hearty!) Singers will be hosting a singing session for all comers.
At Paddy Mulligans on Church St they'll be more local musicians playing host for a fiery session of jigs, reels and hornpipes.
This year's concert at the Gregson spotlights local talent with the superb voice of Chrissie Gladwin and two thirds of the
wonderful "Fat Hen," Alan James and Wendy Stewart.
Then on Sunday check out a ceilidh with Free Reed Band and caller Chrissie Gladwin.
Recharge your batteries with the famous festival curry followed by what for many is the high point of Clocks Back - the open concert.
Would-be performers are advised to get their names on the list early.
For more details or tickets call the Gregson on 849959.
