EDINBURGH University Press has announced the release of a new edition of 'A History of Lancaster', this time delving further than ever before into the past, with a new Roman chapter by Dr David Shotter.
However, although its authors have finished the book within their deadline, technical difficulties mean it will not be available, as planned, for Christmas, but in the Spring.
Dr White, curator of Lancaster City Museums, said: "Lancaster's long history has been maturing for a long time and we are confident we shall have a vintage product by Spring! So, hold on to those Christmas book tokens."
