A LANCASTER 11-year-old was grabbed from behind and had a knife held to his throat on Monday afternoon.

The schoolboy was with his friend by the River Lune in Cable Street when they were approached by the attacker.

He grabbed one of the boys and held a knife to his throat saying: "If I see you again I'll cut you to pieces."

The child ran away and reported the incident to police where he gave a detailed a description of the assailant.

He's described as a white male, 5ft 10ins tall of average to stocky build with brown to red hair. He was clean shaven with darker patches around his jawline. He was wearing a light green bobble hat with tassels that he wore just above his eyebrows. He had on a mustard coloured fleece top and dark black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with white trainers. He spoke with a soft, Liverpudlian accent and had a large gold sleeper in his left ear.
