BLACKBURN with Darwen Council has shut Darwen's Victoria Tower for several months while urgent repair work is carried out to the viewing platforms.
Could I ask that someone authorises a couple of coats of paint on the tower's dome before it falls apart and is blown away?
I walked up there a few weeks ago and saw that it was in a sorry state.
Nothing ever came of the excellent idea to floodlight the tower for the Millennium, but surely a small tin of primer and a tin of gloss isn't asking too much.
Or is it?
