I ACCEPTED the open invitation to visit the New Era Complex, Paradise Street, Accrington. What a transformation from the old mill building and former Ritz Ballroom.
The combination of architecture and interior design is outstanding, concealed lighting adding to the wonderful colour scheme.
Facilities are many including ballroom/sports arena, fully equipped gymnasium and showers, computer/internet room, projector room and other rooms for private functions. The architects have included the old mill yard set in cobble stone and flagged floors of yesteryear.
The enterprise is a credit to the council and its ratepayers money well spent on facilities close to the centre of the town, without infringing on the green belt. Well done Hyndburn.
Take note Blackburn, when spending your money, don't add to the tin trees and steel banana.
K ATKINSON (Mr), Selous Road, Blackburn.
