GLOBAL thinking is all very well but North West businesses must not ignore the importance of getting marketing right on their own doorstep, says a new report.
The average North West person spends the majority of their lives within a 14-mile radius of home, according to media group Harrison Cowley.
"The report found that regions are beginning to think and act as ' mini nations' and that a positive shift in approach will be needed by those engaged in brand building if they are to continue to be successful in the North West," said Sally Neary, associated director of Harrison Cowley Manchester.
"Two thirds of people spend all or most of their leisure time in the local area which, together with the growth in home working and the contracting out of domestic services, have led to a massive boost for local economies."
