WAYS of providing cheap and efficient fuel for the future will be outlined during a seminar next month.

The highly topical event will be held at Northern Technologies, Nelson, on November 8 just five days before the deadline set by fuel tax campaigners for the Government to cut petrol prices.

The event is aimed at providing small and medium sized companies with advice on issues such as clean fuel, environmental benefits and cost savings. It will also provide information on converting vehicles to alternative fuels such as LPG and Government grants of up to 75 per cent that are available to carry out the conversion.

Northern Technologies environmental adviser, Lorraine Pilkington (pictured on the left with Lucy Healy of Northern Technologies), said: "Many companies haven't yet taken advantage of the surprisingly large fuel savings available.

"On top of the proven environmental benefits, changes in excise duty make alternative fuels even better value."
