AN INSIGHT into how to clinch vital grant aid to boost their businesses will be given to Hyndburn bosses during a business advice clinic at the Globe Centre, Accrington, tomorrow.

The event has been organised by regeneration group Hyndburn FIRST and will be staffed by Government Office North West (GONW) members who deal with grant applications from the area.

The clinic will look at the Enterprise Grant Scheme (EGS) and the Smart Scheme which are both available to firms with fewer than 250 workers. Only companies in the Altham, Huncoat and Clayton-le-Moors wards are eligible for EGS which is a grant towards capital investment projects in manufacturing, information technology and some service sectors. The Smart Scheme is available across the borough and offers grant support in developing new products and processes.

Hyndburn councillor Peter Clarke, who is responsible for economic development, said: "I can't stress how important it is for companies to seize chances like this when they come along.

"There are few enough opportunities for grant assistance so I would encourage companies to book an appointment at the business advice clinic to talk through any investment ideas they may have."

To book an appointment firms are asked to call Hyndburn FIRST on 01254 600630.
