SAINTS made history when they beat Wigan in the Super League Grand Final. They were the last winners of the 20th Century and the first winners of the 21st Century and neither tide nor time will ever alter that.
I have criticised Saints' board in the past, but credit where it's due they have got their act together in recent seasons.
They certainly found a gem in Ian Millward, who deserves much of the credit for Saints' success.
As for the players, well, many teams would have lay down after being heavily beaten by Wigan in the last championship match. But not Saints, they came back with a vengeance against Bradford then Wigan. They played with passion, flair, brilliant defence and good old-fashioned rugby.
Memories to be cherished of a truly historical occasion.
