THE developers of the new multiplex cinema, originally due to open in St Helens this month, have confirmed that a delay in construction means that it will not be open until March, 2001 at the earliest.
The leisure complex is based at the bottom of Bridge Street and Keith McCormack, a director of the developers, CTP Limited, said: "We had hoped very much to have the whole scheme open before Christmas if everything had progressed satisfactorily.
"However, the building contractor is very significantly behind programme and the very wet weather has not helped. There is still a possibility that the Chicago Rock Cafe will open in December and the Pizza Hut and Yates' Wine Bar will open early in the new year.
"A further announcement will be made in the next few weeks."
