ORGANISERS of a charity band night to be held in December are inviting local bands interested in performing their work to get in touch.

Ray Moulsdale, bassist with four-piece local band, Screw In The Rock, is organising the event at the Sidac Social Club, Sutton Leach on Friday, December 1 in aid of Leukaemia Research and CHICS (ChIldren Cancer Support).

His own band are set to play at the gig but they are also hoping to recruit more bands to play either their own material or covers.

Ray, from Sutton Leach, told the Star: "Sidac have said we can use their room free of charge, so I would like to say a big thank-you to them.

Another two bands, Trubshaws and Deep Cellar, have already agreed to play alongside us but we want at least five on the night so anyone who would like to play is welcome to give me a call.

"We also need help with the raffle and we would be very grateful to any local businesses willing to sponsor the event or donate some prizes."

Bands or sponsors wishing to contact Ray can call him on (01744) 817836.
