ROVERS have quashed Preston's attempts to take out-of-favour defender Simon Grayson on a one-month loan.
North End boss David Moyes had hoped to sign the 31-year-old as cover for the suspended Graham Alexander.
But Ewood chief Graeme Souness has put a block on the move -- much to the frustration of the player.
"From my point of view it doesn't make sense," said Grayson.
"I've been told I'll never play for Blackburn again and this would have been the perfect opportunity to put myself in the shop window.
"But Rovers will only let me go to Preston if it's a permanent move."
