OUR guide to tomorrow's opponnents

BIG MONEY MAN: Geoff Horsfield. Trevor Francis broke the Blues transfer record in the summer to sign striker Horsfield from Fulham for £2.25 million. The former Scarborough and Halifax forward bagged seven League goals for Fulham last season and despite injury has so far netted five for Birmingham.

LAST SIX RESULTS: Norwich City (a) lost 1-0; Bolton (h) drew 1-1 (Grainger pen); Tottenham (a WC) won 1-3 (Adebola 2, Burchill); Portsmouth (a) drew 1-1 )(Adebola); Gillingham (h) won 1-0 (Marcello); Sheffield Wed (a) lost 1-0

SEASON SO FAR: Birmingham have gone three League games without a win and didn't play last weekend because of a waterlogged pitch at Grimsby. However, they have still been in the top six virtually all season and have an impressive home record of seven wins out of nine.

MANAGER: Former City playing favourite Trevor Francis returned to St Andrews as boss in May, 1996 after cutting his managerial teeth at QPR. The former England striker has led the Blues to 10th, seventh, fourth and fifth-placed finishes in his four full seasons to date and is eyeing the play-offs again.

TOP SCORER: Dele Adebola, wanted on loan by Burnley earlier this season, has responded to his summer transfer-listing by banging in five goals so far, including two in City's cup win over Spurs. Geoff Horsfield is joint top.

PREDICTED LINE-UP: Central defender David Holdsworth is doubtful with tonsilitis but David Burrows could return. And Trevor Francis has injury worries over his strikers with Geoff Horsfield, Mark Burchill, Andrew Johnson and Marcello all under treatment this week.

ONE TO WATCH: Celtic striker Burchill is into the second month of a loan spell at St Andrews where he has scored four times so far. The Scottish international, who is hoping to shrug off a thigh strain, is a nippy, little front man with an eye for goal.

DID YOU KNOW? TREVOR Francis transfer-listed a trio of his strikers in the summer but has yet to receive a firm offer for any of the trio of Dele Adebola, Peter Ndlovu and Paul Furlong other than loan requests.
