ACCRINGTON Stanley defender Carl Bell has left the club after losing his place in the first team.

Bell is thought to be lining up a move to St Helens Town in NWCFL Division One.

Stanley boss John Coleman says the player wanted first team football.

"It is difficult to keep all the players happy when you have a big squad because there is always someone who won't be playing.

"But we need a big squad to cover for injuries. Carl started the season in the first team but lost his place and has decided to leave."

Coleman reports almost a clean bill of health for tomorrow's UniBond Premier game against Droylsden at the Crown Ground as the Reds look to halt a run of three league defeats.

"It should be a good game because a lot of the players know each other.

"We haven't played them yet this season but they have got a lot of the same players as last year and it will be difficult. They have been through a bit of an up and down season." Coleman is looking for his side to step up their challenge at the top of the table.

"I think we could be doing a bit better at the moment. I don't think we have clicked into the way of playing I know we are capable of.

"We have to stop giving goals away and we have to start scoring more goals.

"We are creating a lot of chances but not scoring enough goals.

"And we are conceding a lot of goals in proportion to the number of chanmmces teams are creating against us. We need to switch that around.

"I am looking to strengthen the squad. You are always on the look-out for new players, you can never be satisfied with the squad you have."
