PRESTON'S players will be fighting for their future as boss David Moyes looks to arrest the current slump.

The North End chief is determined to get his side back on track after their current run of seven defeats in eight games -- and that could mean heads will roll.

"Obviously I won't allow this form to continue. I need to see a marked improvement.

"I cannot allow people to keep making mistakes."

Moyes has set no time limit but the game against Wolves at Deepdale on Saturday will be a huge test.

And before adding new faces, he has been trying some psycological tactics to see if he can get the current crop of players over their drop in confidence.

"The players here have done remarkably well especially at the start of the season and they need to begin to believe in themselves again and each other.

"It is up to the players to be tuned mentally and it may take one or two private conversations, where they can talk to me about anything that is not right about their game. This has been going on in recent weeks.

"You always have to work on psychology with players, that is important, especially at the moment.

"We may have lost a bit of belief and lost five game but we are still ninth.

"That won't last forever and on current form we are not play-off contenders but football can change quickly and hopefully it will for us.

"It is a great position to be in and it's important the players, the management, the supporters and everybody stick together to get through this period."
