MURDER squad detectives were put on stand-by after the body of a Whitefield pensioner was found at his home on Friday (Jan 12).
Scenes of crime and forensic officers were among the first to enter the property in Victoria Avenue after Mr Brian McDermott was discovered dead in his bed by a care worker two days after he died.
However, it was later revealed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the single man's death.
A post mortem was held yesterday with natural causes expected to be revealed as the cause of death.
