BLACKBURN Rovers have quashed talk linking Keith Gillespie with a move to Anderlecht. The Northern Ireland international has been linked with both the Belgium giants and Sporting Lisbon in the national press.

But Rovers have not been approached by either club for the 25-year-old winger.

Meanwhile, former Rovers midfielder Lee Carsley has launched an astonishing attack on Graeme Souness following his £2 million move to Coventry City.

The Republic of Ireland international was sold by Souness after failing to command a regular place at Ewood.

But Souness's decision has since been fully justified with Garry Flitcroft and David Dunn in outstanding form during an excellent run of just one defeat in 18 games.

However, Carsley still claims he has learnt more under prsent manager Gordon Strachan than he did under Souness.

"Strachan's a player's manager and was a big reason why I joined Coventry."

"He's a midfielder like myself and he can still do it on the training pitch," said Carsley.

"Don't get me wrong, Blackburn are a good club and we'd settled there. But this is different. I'm with someone who really wants to help me improve.

"I'd go so far as to say that I've learned more in three weeks under Gordon Strachan than I did in three months under Graeme Souness."
