ATHERTON LR bounced back to form after Saturday's disappointment of a home defeat by Castleton to register a 3-0 away win at Chadderton. The first goal came from the penalty spot on 37 minutes when the home goalkeeper fouled Gavin Salmon and Mark Parry converted.
On 56 minutes Salmon set up Colin Lomas making his debut after his transfer from Atherton Colls and it became a two goal first game for the player when he fired home a penalty on 70 minutes after Salmon was again the player impeded.
An all-round quality team performance from Rovers saw highly-rated youngster Danny Caldercott voted the game's outstanding performer.
Atherton Colls' home game with Salford City was postponed.
