Over the last few months I have read dozens of letters condemning the

Millennium Bridge on it's aethetics. It seems to me that many people in

Lancaster are frightened of anything new or slightly different. I consider

the bridge a much needed innovative design, to take Lancaster into the 21st

century. Which is alot more than I can say for the new cinema complex being

built in the town centre. It gets more hideous by the day, and can be seen

from almost anywhere as a blot on the horizon of an otherwise pretty town.

Perhaps the people writing these letters believe the character of place is

mesured by how many shops and roads it has.
