A PLAN by masked thugs to steal a BMW proved a non-starter.
After forcing the owner to hand over his keys outside The Village Hotel in George Street, Prestwich, the four would-be robbers couldn't start the engine.
They forced the 52-year-old back inside his BMW 840, but even he couldn't get the car going.
The men finally gave up, sprinted to a waiting vehicle and roared off at around 7.45pm on Thursday (Feb 1).
