SO all beggars become millionaires! Because two people give £2 in two seconds are we to assume that everyone that particular beggar asks gives money?

Gosh! I never realised we, the people who have always given. We never return? Come on, you have judged that person and condemned him within two minutes. Not only that, you have gone on to condemn all beggars. Then you have assumed he, like all beggars will spend their fortunes on other things. Are we thinking of drugs, alcohol?

Not content with these assumptions, you then write to the local newspapers trying to influence other people's views. Presumably you want all St Helens people not to give to beggars because of what you saw in two minutes. I wonder why you gave in the first place?

I don't condone begging. It can be very life threatening. But if people want to give, for whatever reason, let them give without attaching conditions.

Accept beggars as ordinary people without judgement, just being down on their luck. If you don't want to give money, give a smile, a few words of encouragement, something from your heart. Parable of the Good Samaritan? But then I am opening another agenda.
