Prescot earned two valuable league points following this close encounter with a plucky Lucas side.
After an early Lucas penalty, the visitors took advantage of slack tackling when centre Chris Leigh broke through to score their first try just before half-time.
Prescot increased their lead after the interval with a superb individual try by scrum-half Ste Holland, converted by full-backIan Hughes.
Lucas replied with an unconverted try but a Hughes penalty ensured victory for Prescot.
Man of the match for Prescot was number eight Grahame Leigh, with flanker Dave Whitfield also in good form.
