A LOCAL group of disabled sports stars are celebrating after hearing they have been awarded £6,000.
Meteors Wheelchair Basketball Club have received the grant as part of the Sportsmatch Scheme. A delighted Peter Jackson, Chairman of Meteors said," This funding has come at just the right time. It will enable the club to continue with its school visits and development scheme to encourage young people disabled and able bodied people to take part in sport".
The grant matches sponsorships from kind local businesses Ezzy Cozzy Sunbeds and G.J. Connor building. Anyone who is interested in getting involved with Meteors should contact Peter Jackson on 451138.
