WE are informed the council intends to spend £20,000 on a sculpture to be placed on Darwen Boulevard.
As a Darwener born and bred, I would much rather see this money put with the £36,000 already allocated for lighting up Darwen Tower to give it and the surrounding area a refurbishment and complete the task of lighting.
This would then be there for all to see and admire and not just for the centre of Darwen.
