BLACKPOOL'S very own two tenors are re-uniting for a series of concerts.
Singers Kevin Matthews and Stephen Burrows first met in 1990 when they were founder members of the local Fylde Opera Group. Now, 11 years and many concerts later, they are joining forces for a Mario Lanza musical evening at St Paul's Church, Egerton Road, North Shore, on Saturday, April 7.
Stephen said: "There are a lot of three tenors about, and it's more or less the same repertoire that they do, so we wanted to do something different and popular and we came up with Mario Lanza."
The musical pair have notched up plenty of professional experience between them. Kevin has spent the last three years touring in various operas with Glyndebourne after studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Stephen stayed local, but still travels around the north of England performing concerts and solo work.
