SHEFFIELD United chief Neil Warnock claimed a point was the least his side deserved following a battling display against in-form Rovers.

Blades boss Warnock had to wait until the 74th minute to see Peter Ndlovu cancel out Henning Berg's fourth minute opener.

But the former Bury manager claimed a draw was a fair result after his team more than matched Rovers in this bruising encounter.

"I thought our lads were tremendous -- they put in a performance full of character," said Warnock.

"When they got that goal so early, it could have been another Burnley.

"But, in the end, it would have been a crime if we had been beaten.

"I said to the players before the game that tonight was the night so I must be a witchdoctor now.

"We probably gave them as many problems as any team has this season but, having said all that, I hope they go up.

"I hope Fulham and Blackburn get promoted because they are the two best teams in our league by a long way.

"The really good sides don't just go and do well against teams at the top of the league, they can also go and win against teams at the bottom.

"And that's where our problem is.

"We've gone to some of the lower teams in the league and not been professional whereas sides like Blackburn do beat the bottom sides away from home.

"We feel we've arrived sometimes but it's all about that bit of quality, too.

"It's great to look at clubs like Blackburn, though, particularly because of Jack Walker.

"To see them get back in the Premiership would be fantastic."

However Warnock took exception to Graeme Souness's comment that his side are like a modern day Wimbledon -- even though the Rovers boss had meant it as a compliment.

"If I'd got Graeme Souness's millions then I'd probably say a few things if I was disappointed that I hadn't won," said Warnock.

"I'd probably get bitter if a team on a sixth of my wage bill came and got a result here."
