PEDESTRIANS crossing the recently re-opened bridge in Phillips Lane, Colne, can now feel safe.
County Councillor Tim Ormrod received complaints from people who felt they were being squashed to the edge by passing cars and trucks. Two white lines have been painted along either side of the bridge to allow a pathway for pedestrians.
Coun Ormrod said: "Drivers think it looks a lot narrower between the lines now and slow down."
