DORIAN Tulloch was 'grassed up' by his parents after a piece of cannabis fell out of his pocket.
Blackburn magistrates heard that the couple reported the matter to the police and the 22-year-old was arrested and charged with possession.
Tulloch, of Chester Avenue, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and was fined £60 with £54 costs.
Basharat Ditta, defending, said Tulloch's parents had attempted to nip in the bud their son's use of illicit drugs.
"Hopefully these proceedings will prove a salutary lesson to him," said Mr Ditta. "He has suffered the disdain of his parents who, as well as reporting him to the police, have taken various other measure to ensure this doesn't happen again."
