SENSATIONAL seven-year-old Shane McKeever is lining up yet another TV performance after scooping the top prize in a national talent competition.

Line dancer Shane, who comes from a well-known Blackpool family, first appeared in The Blackpool Citizen on March 1 after winning a place in the final of the Steps 11 The Stars children's talent show presented by Claire and H from chart-topping band Steps.

And now he's set to appear on this Saturday morning's (April 7) children's show Live And Kicking and enjoy a day with all the members of Steps as his prize.

Mum Michelle -- who lived on Bloomfield Road, Blackpool, until 1988 before moving to Crossmaglen in Northern Ireland -- was delighted to let us know he had won first place.

"We just got the news on Monday (April 2)," she said. "I think maybe Shane won because his act is just that little bit different. All the other acts were brilliant but they were mostly singers and the like and, even though they are very good Shane, just has that edge.

"On Friday we are flying with Shane to London for him to appear on Live And Kicking with Steps.

"And on that show there could be all sorts of other top stars! I think Shane's dad and I are far more excited than him -- he takes everything in his stride!

"We'd like to thank everyone who voted for Shane to win and are delighted he's got this opportunity."

Shane is now hoping to line dance his way to the top of the Irish talent show Star Stream and retain his title of Line Dancing European champion in Amsterdam in April.

But after that Michelle says its all change: "I think maybe we'll see how he does in modern dancing now as he's a great mover and just line dancing could hold him back a bit."

Catch a glimpse of Shane on BBC1's Live And Kicking from 9.30am on Saturday April 7.s
