SHOWBIZ pooch Schnorbitz is looking for some pedigree chums to help raise vital funds for a second Schnorbus for needy causes.

And Mystique magic man Richard De Vere is even taking the shirt off his back to help out by selling off items from his wardrobe at a spring fair this Saturday (April 7) at St Margaret's Church, St Annes.

Richard told The Citizen: "The first Schnorbus donated by the Schnorbitz Trust has done about 175,000 miles taking under-privileged children on day trips, OAPs shopping and relatives of cancer sufferers to visit at Christie's. And so now it's a bit poorly and we need another one.

"The Schnorbitz Trust was something I set up after I inherited Schnorbitz from Bernie Winters.

"I didn't think it was right to gain financially from her name and so I started donating to charities such as Guide Dogs For The Blind etc. But I couldn't actually see where the money was coming from and that's why I got involved in the Schnorbus.

"It's out all the time and has been a massive hit so I got together with Sandra Parker, who's an all round good egg, to see if we can raise enough money for a second one and we're holding this event on Saturday and hope everyone will come along.

"I've cleared out my wardrobe and there's lots of labels like Versace, Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein on offer at bargain prices!"

Sandra, who is also a volunteer for the Macmillan Windmill Appeal and vice-chairman of the Cheerful Sparrows, said: "Richard has opened one or two events for us and he told me about needing a new bus so I was happy to help. And I'll keep on helping him until we get one. This is just the first of many events planned."

The spring fair will be held at St Margaret's Church, Rowsley Road, St Annes, from 10.30am to 2.30pm on Saturday April 7 and Richard De Vere will making a personal appearance with Schnorbitz from noon.
